The Priesthood Within: Ezekiel 44:28-31
Ezekiel 44:28-31 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezekiel 44 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage declares that the people’s inheritance is God Himself; offerings and priestly rights illustrate a life dedicated to holiness and devotion, not possession.
Neville's Inner Vision
To Ezekiel, the land is not the prize; the true inheritance is the I AM you awaken to when you realize you are God’s possession. 'I am their inheritance' means your awareness is the gift that none can take away. The offerings and the priestly duties symbolize the manner in which consciousness feeds on life, not death, and amplifies blessing in the house of the self. When you regard yourself as the temple and the priest, you see that 'the first of all the firstfruits' and 'the first of your dough' are mental acts: the first thought, the first devotion, given to the priest within you, so that blessing rests in your dwelling. The prohibition on eating dead or torn things teaches purity: feed on living, holy thought; guard your inner market from fear and decay. Your true inheritance is present tense—I am—so ask yourself, what state of consciousness would dwell there? Then align your feeling with that state until it is your immediate experience.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit in stillness and repeat, 'I am their inheritance; God is my inheritance.' Visualize offering the firstfruits—your first thought, your dough—to the inner priest, and feel the blessing resting in your house.
