Biblical Context
Ezekiel 40:5–9 describes a measured wall and gate around a temple, illustrating inner boundaries and the sacred space where God resides.
Neville's Inner Vision
To Ezekiel’s vision, the measuring reed is no tool for bricks but a symbol of my own focus. The wall around the house is the boundary of my current state of consciousness, the limits I accept in waking life. The six-cubit reed speaks of precise attention I can bring to inner space. When the man steps to the gate facing the east, I sense the rising light of awareness that invites me to awaken to God within. The stairs and thresholds represent the gradual movements of imagination I perform to approach the sacred. Each little chamber measured as one reed long and one reed broad suggests a simple, uniform inner territory where presence can dwell. The porch within, the inward invitation, becomes my doorway into the living temple. The outer dimensions remind me to keep visualization steady, not scattered. The porch of the gate, the posts, and the inward porch point to a fixed, reliable structure of consciousness through which God always speaks. The prophecy and promise are mine here and now, whenever I acknowledge the I AM and stand in that presence.
Practice This Now
Imaginative_act: Assume you stand at the gate in your mind and survey the inner walls with the I AM presence. Feel it real now and declare that the temple within is yours.
