Inner Armies of Mind
Ezekiel 38:5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezekiel 38 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse lists Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya joining with shield and helmet, signaling a united, armored force. It uses the outer image to hint at the inner powers of mind gathered in purpose.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the Neville reader, Ezekiel is not describing distant geography but the geography of consciousness. Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya are not territories; they are three active states of your being—will, faith, and bold movement. They are each 'armed' with shield and helmet, symbols of protection and disciplined awareness. When these faculties stand arrayed under the I AM—your eternal self—they create a protective, unified field. The warrior on the outer map becomes your inner self, and the prophecy becomes a promise: as you guard your mind with attentive awareness and align your desires, your Kingdom of God manifests in form. The 'spiritual warfare' is simply the conflict between old, unintegrated beliefs and the new assumption of your divine status. The clause 'with them' indicates that these faculties act in concert; when you revise a limiting belief, you are not erasing a part of you but harmonizing the inner army into one victorious consciousness. Imagination is the shield and helmet through which all outer appearances are rearranged to reflect the truth you already are.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume: I am the I AM; see Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya as three aspects of your mind aligned, and feel the shield of awareness surrounding you. Then revise any fear by affirming, I am one with the Kingdom of God, right now.
