That word is not history spoken from without but a sudden wakening of consciousness. When Ezekiel says the word came unto him you are being shown that a new state of awareness can appear within you at any moment when you refuse the old story and listen. The exile is but a backdrop for the drama of your inner decision. The voice says in effect that you are not finished; your reality is your consciousness and I am within you ready to be voiced. The I AM, your very being, speaks as a command from the self that knows itself. Therefore the event is inward: a shift of attention, a revision of conviction, a re-imagining of what is real. In Neville fashion the key is to feel and assume the feeling of the word as already true, letting the inner directive anchor your days. As you inhabit that state the outer world begins to respond with signs that your inner word is alive.
