Ezekiel 25:13

Biblical Context

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also stretch out mine hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and they of Dedan shall fall by the sword.

Neville's Inner Vision

Let us step into the awareness that the Edom of Ezekiel is the stubborn ego—those fixed opinions and resentments you call I or mine. When the Lord GOD stretches out His hand, He is your awareness turning toward these inner states, not a mere threat from without. The cutting off of man and beast signals the removal of living impulses and animal fears that have ruled your inner life. To make it desolate from Teman is to clear the terrain of habit and memory where fear and pride have rooted themselves. Those of Dedan falling by the sword is the graceful ending of pride and fixed judgment that keep you from living in the present. The Presence of God is not punishment but the I AM revealing what you truly are—steady, undivided, and free. Fear dissolves when you recognize you are the observer; the world is your inner dream, and the desolation is simply space being prepared for a richer temple within.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the I AM as observer; imagine Edom’s landscape dissolving. Revise by declaring, 'The Lord stretches forth His hand and this old self is desolate, making room for a new temple within.'
