The Inner LORD Speaks
Ezekiel 14:7-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezekiel 14 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
It declares that anyone who separates from God and erects idols in the heart will face an inner, direct confrontation from the LORD, and may receive a personal sign revealing the truth of the LORD's Presence.
Neville's Inner Vision
Take Ezekiel’s words as a map of your own interior life. The 'house of Israel' is not a distant nation but your states of consciousness; the 'separating from me' is any choice to side with fear, desire, or images rather than the I AM that you are. When you set idols in your heart—persistent beliefs, pictures you hold about yourself—your mind narrows and you base your decisions on them. You may even run to a prophet of the outer world to enquire, yet the LORD says He will answer by Himself, from within. This is not punishment but a clear demonstration of your own sovereignty: your inner attention must pivot away from the idol and toward the Self, the I AM. If you refuse and sustain the stance, the inner face turns away; you become a sign and proverb for your own condition, cut off from the center of your being. The cure is to know that the LORD is within; when you align with that presence, the outer life reflects the harmony you imagined.
Practice This Now
Sit in stillness and imagine the LORD speaking from your chest, 'I am the I AM within you.' Feel the idols fading as you revise your belief to the I AM, and notice a sign of alignment appearing in your life.
