Deliverance From False Visions

Ezekiel 13:22-23 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Ezekiel 13 in context

Scripture Focus

22Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:
23Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
Ezekiel 13:22-23

Biblical Context

Ezekiel rebukes the deceit that saddens the righteous and arms the wicked with false promises; God pledges to deliver his people and reveal that he alone is the LORD.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within Ezekiel, the heart God speaks of is an inner state of awareness. The 'lies' that make the righteous sad are not outer crimes but habits of belief rehearsed in the imagination; they strengthen the hands of the wicked by promising life to fear. Neville reads this as your inner drama: you have allowed a counterfeit ruler to pretend to grant vitality, thus you remain bound to vanity and to the lure of divinations if you let them. The remedy is the recognition that God is the I AM within—the one power that can revise any scene by changing the assumption. When you refuse to feed the old promises and instead assume the truth that you are delivered, the illusion loses its grip. Then you will know you are not at the mercy of vain divinations, for the LORD is your unchanging awareness. The deliverance you seek is a shift in consciousness, and it is this shift that reveals the sovereign you are.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, declare, 'I am delivered now by the I AM within.' Then revise any lingering promise of life from fear by imagining the inward Lord releasing you, and feel the freedom as your present state.
