Tearing the Pillows of Deception
Ezekiel 13:17-23 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezekiel 13 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Ezekiel rebukes those who prophesy from their heart with deceptive devices to entice and control; God declares he will tear away these tools and deliver the people from lies, leading them to know the Lord.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you, the I AM stands as the sole governor of reality. Set thy face against the voices and garments of habit that prophesy from memory and fear rather than from awareness. Pillows sewn to every armhole and kerchiefs on every stature are the devices by which the mind chases souls away from their true longing—an image you have built to feed the ego's appetite. Yet the Lord GOD within declares you are not bound to such tricks; He will tear away these devices and loosen the hold of the lie, delivering your people (your fulfilled desires) from the deceptive spectacle. When you discern the deception and return to the quiet, you awaken to the I AM and realize that your true life is the assurance that never departs. This is your power: to see through illusion and to know you are the Lord.
Practice This Now
Assume the feeling that you are already free from deceptive voices; imagine tearing away the pillow and kerchiefs from within, and let the true guidance rise as the immediate reality.
