Inner Vision of the Four Beings
Ezekiel 1:8-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezekiel 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The vision shows four beings with human hands under their wings, each bearing the faces of a man, a lion, an ox, and an eagle, moving straight ahead under the Spirit.
Neville's Inner Vision
Imagine Ezekiel’s vision as a map of your own inner landscape. Those four faces are not distant creatures but facets of your consciousness—the mind of a man (reason and discernment), the courage of a lion, the steady labor of an ox, and the piercing sight of an eagle. Their wings and the hands of a man beneath them signify that your creative power rests in the I AM, the constant awareness that animates all you are and do. When their wings touch and turn not, and when they move only in the direction the Spirit indicates, you are being told that true worship is alignment: your inner faculties working in unison under divine direction. The repeated 'straight forward' is the discipline of attention, refusing to bow to rumor or fear. By the Spirit’s movement you are invited to inhabit a state of holy unity, where separation dissolves and the inner kingdom manifests as your felt reality. You are the vision becoming visible through the thoughtful, faithful use of imagination.
Practice This Now
Practice: close your eyes and assume the presence of I AM guiding your inner beings; imagine yourself as the four faces moving in unified purpose, with your hands of mind under wings. Feel it real now by affirming, 'I AM within me and I move as Spirit directs.'
