Exodus 4:13-14

Biblical Context

Moses asks God to send someone else; God points to Aaron as a capable helper. The passage invites shifting from dependence to confident self-expression by aligning inner states.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this scene, Moses embodies a state of consciousness that doubts its own voice, asking to be sent by the hand of another. The LORD’s anger is not punishment but the friction that awakens a deeper power; it pushes Moses to face his limitation and to listen for the inner ally. Aaron, the Levite who can speak well, stands as a symbol of a state of mind that can articulate truth when met by the right inward posture. When Aaron is said to come forth to meet thee, it is the inner meeting of two aspects of your mind—the part that hesitates and the part that speaks with clarity. Your life becomes aligned when you realize that the 'sending' you seek is a decision of consciousness: you do the sending by assuming the state in which you already possess the power to act and to speak. The external helper is simply the projection of an inner faculty already within you; the joy you feel when you recognize him in your heart is the joy of discovering your own speaking self. Step into the awareness that you are the one who is sent, now, by your own I AM.

Practice This Now

Assume the state of the speaker you wish to be and imagine meeting your inner Aaron; feel the heart-warmth of his approval. Then revise your stance: I am the one who speaks, I am the one who acts, and I am sent now.
