Biblical Context
Exodus 38:9-14 describes the court that surrounds the tabernacle, with linen hangings, pillars and sockets, and silver fillets marking each join. The arrangement creates a sacred boundary and a path to the inner Presence.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within me, these lines become a map of interior reality. The hundred-cubit lengths on the south and north describe the broad field of attention I allow myself—large enough for vision, precise enough for order. The fifty-cubit stretches on the east and west mark the boundaries where perception meets stillness, where stories pause and the true is remembered. Twenty pillars stand as steadfast habits of focus; twenty sockets hold them safely, braced by the brass ground and fillets of silver that signify refinement of vibration. The silver lines are remembrance that my thoughts are not random but arranged as a court where I worship in spirit and truth. The entry gate, fifteen cubits wide, is my ready doorway into the sacred field; by stepping through, I claim that the Presence of God is not distant but resident in the I AM, the awareness that holds and shapes all experience. If I reverently imagine this court as my inner sanctuary, the boundaries become protective walls and invitation, and Presence becomes my natural state.
Practice This Now
Imaginatively stand inside the outer court, feel the linen hangings, behold the silver fillets and sturdy pillars. Then step through the fifteen-cubit gate and sense the Presence within your awareness, as the I AM.
