Biblical Context
Moses is shown a special inner space: stand on a rock while God's glory passes by, sheltered by a divine hand; he sees only the back parts, not the face. This picture mirrors how our consciousness receives revelation in stages, with safety and patient exposure.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you, the words 'behold, there is a place by me' invite you to a fixed center of awareness—the rock you stand upon. The glory that passes by is not an external blast but the activity of imagination moving through your mind. The hand that covers you is the I AM, the conscious you that protects you from being overwhelmed by the glare of passing thoughts. When Moses sees the back parts, he is not granted the full radiance; he is granted a working impression, proof that revelation comes through interior alignment, not by forcing the light. You too may be told to stand in that inner cleft and let the image pass; hold your attention steady, and the state you desire begins to imprint itself on your life. The face cannot be seen because your current state cannot sustain it; yet the back parts show you what has become possible. Now practice: enter a quiet space, declare I AM present, and revise your sense of self until you feel you are the rock, and the glory will follow.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine you stand on a solid rock beside a quiet path; declare 'I AM' and feel a hand gently shielding you as a great light passes. When it recedes, notice the impression left on your consciousness and anchor that quiet confidence in your next moment.
