Biblical Context
Exodus 27:9-11 describes the court around the tabernacle with linen hangings and steadfast pillars, marking a defined space for holy assembly. The verse sets outer limits that guard sacred presence.
Neville's Inner Vision
Consider the court as the boundary I consciously erect in my mind around the tabernacle of my life. The south and north hangings symbolize the thoughts and feelings I permit to approach my inner sanctuary. The brass pillars and their silver hooks are my beliefs—brass for tested strength, silver for purity of intention—holding the space I claim as mine. The true worship that unfolds within this enclosure arises when I treat the I AM, the awareness of God within, as the ruler of this boundary. For Neville, God is not distant; I am the God I know as I AM, and this I AM chooses what may enter the field of experience. When I imagine the court, I feel discipline and fidelity operating as structures that protect reverent attention. I do not beg the temple to grow outward; I refine the inner boundary until I sense the I AM presiding there, and every moment flows from that realized presence.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you are inside your own temple of awareness. Repeat 'I AM' as you steady the boundary, feel the linen of your thoughts and the strength of your beliefs as you dwell in the feeling that you already are this presence.
