The LORD Fights Within

Exodus 14:14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Exodus 14 in context

Scripture Focus

14The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
Exodus 14:14

Biblical Context

The verse promises that God fights for you. Your part is to hold your peace in awareness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Viewed through the I AM, this verse is not a battle outside you but a shift in your inner state. 'The LORD shall fight for you' means your higher consciousness wrestles with the apparent problem while you remain still in awareness. When you say 'you shall hold your peace,' you are choosing to stop mental chatter and identify with the steady witness within. The 'enemy' is the last illusion of separation, and the power to overcome it is the I AM's creative energy, always already present. In this light, the divisions between you and the red sea dissolve as you align with the truth that you are one with God, that God’s action is your action, and your thoughts are the instruments by which that action is made visible. Permit the feeling of assurance to rise—knowing the outcome is settled in consciousness—then watch as the outer scene begins to reflect your inner stillness. Your task is not to fight but to imagine from the end: peace, trust, and the sensation of being carried by a divine current.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: For the next 5 minutes, assume the state, 'I am at peace, the battle is the LORD's' and feel it real as you breathe slowly, resting in the I AM.
