Inner Light in Exodus 10:23
Exodus 10:23 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Exodus 10 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Egypt’s darkness stands for obstructed awareness and fear; Israel’s light in their dwellings shows a state of consciousness that remains luminous within. The passage contrasts outer signs with inner conditions.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through the I AM, the three days of darkness are not an external event but a mental climate you permit by identifying with lack. Egypt’s darkness is the habit of fearful thoughts that keep you from noticing your own abundance; Israel’s light is the state of consciousness that remains unshaken when appearances dim. The line 'They saw not one another' reveals that in the realm of separation perception grows dim, yet 'the children of Israel had light in their dwellings' shows that when you dwell in the awareness of your true self, your atmosphere glows from within. The light is not granted from outside but enacted by the revision of your inner state: assume, I AM, already present as light. Let the I AM be your dwelling's lamp; refuse to identify with lack, and you will observe inner doors opening, guidance appearing, and the sense of salvation becoming your routine perception. Providence and Presence are not distant; they are the steady awareness of who you are. This is liberation—salvation from limitation—made real in consciousness.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the I AM as the light filling your dwelling; affirm that I AM the light in this room and feel it illuminate every corner. Let this feeling linger for a minute, revising any thought of lack into awareness of light.
