Esther 1:20-21

Biblical Context

A royal edict is proclaimed across the empire; wives are commanded to honor their husbands, and the king and princes approve Memucan's counsel, acting on it.

Neville's Inner Vision

Esther 1:20–21 is not a mere political decree; it is a mirrored page of your inner life. The empire stands for all the conditions you inhabit; the king is the I AM, the awareness that can issue a law that becomes your texture of life. The wives symbolize the scattered parts of you seeking approval from the external world; to honor them is to acknowledge the world’s demand, yet your power remains in the place where you decide. Memucan’s word is the habitual voice that tells you what must be done according to appearances. When the decree goes out and is pleasing to king and princes, it reveals the point: your attention travels outward and enforces a condition. But the true authority lies in your inner decree—your I AM can command a different state. By assuming the state you desire, by revising until it feels real, you align outer events with the inner choice. So, revise now: the decree is already done in your consciousness, and the world simply reflects that.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare, 'I AM the decree, and it is done now.' Imagine the inner court publishing the decree, and feel the joy as your outer life reflects the choice.
