Inner Armor of Truth
Ephesians 6:14-17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ephesians 6 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul lists spiritual armor as inner dispositions rather than armor of metal. The pieces—truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the word of God—are states of consciousness you wear to stand firm against inner and outer assaults.
Neville's Inner Vision
Stand therefore, in Neville’s sense, means to dwell in the state of consciousness that you are already truth itself. Picture each piece as a living aspect of your I AM: the girdle of truth anchors you to your essential being; the breastplate of righteousness guards your right-minded impulse to act from love; the feet shod with the gospel of peace keep every step aligned with harmony; the shield of faith blocks fear by trusting the reality you are imagining; the helmet of salvation crowns your mind with the awareness that you are already saved in consciousness; and the sword of the Spirit—the word of God—rises as your spoken law, the living truth you rehearse until it becomes your perception. These are not external armor but integrated states of mind you assume to alter the world. To stand is to dwell in the assumption that your true self governs every moment, and what you call “out there” yields to your inner declaration.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly and assume the armor as your living state. Repeat 'I am truth; I am peace; I am saved' until that felt truth governs your next moment.
