Inner Sun, Rest, and Awareness

Ecclesiastes 6:5-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Ecclesiastes 6 in context

Scripture Focus

5Moreover he hath not seen the sun, nor known any thing: this hath more rest than the other.
6Yea, though he live a thousand years twice told, yet hath he seen no good: do not all go to one place?
Ecclesiastes 6:5-6

Biblical Context

Ecclesiastes 6:5-6 contrasts a life blind to the sun with a life marked by rest, showing that long life does not guarantee true good or ultimate destination.

Neville's Inner Vision

To read Ecclesiastes 6:5–6 through my inner eye is to see the sun as your own awareness shining within. The man who has not seen the sun represents a state of self-ignorance, a belief that light and truth are somewhere outside you, earned by length of days. Rest, in this light, is not a reward for labor but a quiet release from the belief in separation. It is the stillness you feel when you allow your attention to rest in the I AM rather than chasing outward signs of success. The line about living long lives without good reveals that duration cannot supply true value; you must discover the good as the I AM that you already are. When you entertain the premise that you are always in the presence of the sun—your present consciousness—the imagined death and the bodily end lose their grip. All journeys converge in the one place of awareness, the timeless I AM that underlies every scene you call life.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, place a hand on your chest, and declare, I am the sun within; I am the good. Then feel a deep rest settle as you dwell in the awareness that you already possess the good.
