Inner Trust, Not Temptation

Deuteronomy 6:16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Deuteronomy 6 in context

Scripture Focus

16Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.
Deuteronomy 6:16

Biblical Context

The verse forbids testing the Lord, reminding the people to trust God’s presence rather than demand signs.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the inner theatre, LORD your God is not an external ruler but the I AM you are. To tempt Him is to demand proof from a state of consciousness that feels lack, as Massah indicates a restless mind craving signs. When you live from the assumption that God is elsewhere, you split your awareness and endure cycles of fear. The true obedience is inward alignment: you revise the sense of separation by affirming I AM as the constant consciousness that knows itself as all-sufficient. Imagination is the instrument, not a calling card to the outer world. Each moment of quiet, impression, or decision is a movement of inner faith; you do not beg for miracles so much as you settle into the realization that your own I AM is already manifesting your experience. The outer world then attests to what your inner state already embodies. Do not chase proof; instead choose the feeling of completion, and the kingdom within becomes your experienced reality.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the presence of I AM as your own. Revise any doubt by feeling it real now, imagining a scene that confirms your inner unity.
