2And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
Deuteronomy 28:1-2

Biblical Context

The passage promises that if you diligently listen to the divine voice and keep the commands, you will be lifted to a place of blessing, and those blessings will follow you and overtake you.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within this text, the land and nations are not distant places but images of your own inner state. To hearken diligently to the voice of the LORD thy God is to attend to the I AM that lives in you; to observe and do the commandments is to align your inner habits with that divine impulse. When you dwell in faithful attention, you do not earn favors from a distant deity but become a state of consciousness that rises above limitation. The promise of being set on high above all nations is the promise that, as your inner life obeys, your outer experiences reflect that elevation. The words 'shall come on thee' and 'shall overtake thee' describe your dominant feeling overtaking every lesser thought; you live from the conclusion that you are governed by a wise, loving presence. Practice obedience to your own inner law, and you will find the world rearranging itself to match your new state.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly, place a hand on your heart, and assume you are already living under the inner command; feel the elevation and blessings overtaking you as a present reality, and rest in that state for several minutes daily.
