Inner Covenant Renewal
Deuteronomy 26:16-19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 26 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage calls for covenant renewal: a person must wholeheartedly commit to God's statutes and walk in His ways. This makes them His chosen, holy people.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, the commandments are not commands from a distant God; they are an invitation to awaken to your I AM. When you hear that this day the LORD thy God hath commanded thee, you are naming the moment you choose to inhabit a higher state. To keep and do them with all thy heart and soul is to invest imagination with certainty, to hold in mind a complete alignment of feeling, will, and action with the divine pattern. The line you have avouched the LORD this day to be thy God marks the inner covenant you affirm, a decision to walk in His ways by listening to that inner voice of truth. As you persist in this affirmed state, you are avouched as God's peculiar people—the vibrational difference that marks you as holy. The external world then shifts to reflect your inner law, not by ritual but by the power of consciousness where you dwell. You rise above limitation, and praise, name, and honor follow as natural expressions of a life lived in alignment with God within.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and declare inwardly that you are the Lord’s covenant in expression, and feel the truth of that identity as real. Then revise a current limitation by imagining the opposite state already established in you.
