Inner Tithes, Outer Blessings

Deuteronomy 26:12-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Deuteronomy 26 in context

Scripture Focus

12When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of tithing, and hast given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled;
13Then thou shalt say before the LORD thy God, I have brought away the hallowed things out of mine house, and also have given them unto the Levite, and unto the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all thy commandments which thou hast commanded me: I have not transgressed thy commandments, neither have I forgotten them:
Deuteronomy 26:12-13

Biblical Context

The verse describes completing the third-year tithe and giving to the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, followed by an affirmation of obedience to God's commandments.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the inner kingdom, the third year's tithe is not a coin, but a turning of your attention back to the source of all supply. The Levite stands for the inner priest - your calm center that interprets life; the stranger is the unknown aspects you greet with hospitality; the fatherless is your childlike wonder; the widow is any grief you would call finite. When you end the act of tithing, you do more than pay; you declare to the I AM that you have brought away the hallowed things from your house and have given them to these inner figures, in full obedience to the inner commandments. This is not a ritual of outside law but a recognition that your supply flows from consciousness. By performing the inner deed and affirming that you have not transgressed the commandments, you re-align your state of awareness. The outer world then mirrors a restored fullness, for the law you follow is the law of your own awareness, and the heart that gives freely experiences abundance as your constant present reality.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and imagine finishing the inner tithe, giving your abundance to the inner figures—the Levite as your inner priest, the stranger as the unknown, the fatherless as childlike wonder, the widow as grief. Then declare, 'I have kept thy commandments,' as a present, felt reality.
