Inner Victory Through Covenant Obedience
Deuteronomy 2:34-36 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 2 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage describes destroying cities, taking spoils, and God's deliverance of the people. From Aroer to Gilead, not a single city was too strong for them.
Neville's Inner Vision
Not a battle in the world, but a turning in consciousness. The 'cities' are the fixed beliefs and fears you have allowed to rule your inner terrain. When 'we destroyed' them, you are letting go of a habit of thought that has kept you bound to limitation. The 'spoils' are the rewards of awareness—calm, confidence, clarity—taken as proof that your inner state governs your outer world. The long stretch 'from Aroer to Gilead' marks a journey through the river of Arnon—an inner threshold you pass as your I AM awakens to itself. The declaration that 'the LORD our God delivered all unto us' translates to: your consciousness, not an external army, has made every challenge yield to your claim. When you see a circumstance as formidable, remember: not one city is too strong for the I AM that you are. Your obedience to the inner directive—remain faithful to the feeling that you are already delivered—releases the power to cause events to align with your assumed state.
Practice This Now
Assume the end: you are delivered, walking in abundance, with every 'city' yielded to your I AM. Revise the scene inwardly until you feel it real, letting imagination become your outer victory.
