Inner Perfection Now

Deuteronomy 18:13-14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Deuteronomy 18 in context

Scripture Focus

13Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.
14For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.
Deuteronomy 18:13-14

Biblical Context

Deuteronomy 18:13–14 commands you to be perfectly aligned with the LORD and to avoid pagan divination, trusting inner guidance instead.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of 'be perfect with the LORD thy God' as a call to inhabit a single, flawless state of awareness—the I AM. The LORD is not a distant judge but the living, present you: your awareness knowing itself as complete. The nations you leave behind sought omens, observers of times, and diviners because they believed reality could be steered from without. You are asked to refuse that projection, to accept that the only power you need is the inner discipline of consciousness, the I AM that surveys all. When you imagine a moment of perfect alignment, you are not pretending; you are simply recognizing what is already true in the inner office of your mind. The external world only mirrors your inner belief. So, rather than scanning the heavens for portents, fix your attention on the feeling of wholeness, on the sense that God’s will moves through you as you, here and now. In that state, every choice you make becomes an act of obedience and joy, not fear.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and say, 'I am perfected in the LORD' until the feeling of alignment settles; then, imagine acting from inner guidance rather than seeking signs.
