Inner Tithe and Joy
Deuteronomy 14:24-26 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 14 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
If the way is too long to carry a tithe, turn it into money and go to the place God will choose. Spend that money on whatever your soul desires, and feast before the Lord with your household.
Neville's Inner Vision
Take the law as a mirror of your inner life: distance and supply are sensations within. When the journey seems long for your sense of abundance, imagine that the money you would spend on oxen or wine already exists as your inner vitality. Carry this inner money to the place your God-revealed awareness dwells and blesses you. In that inner temple, exchange the outward money for whatever your soul desires, and feast there before the Lord. The outer act is a symbol of a deeper act: you are choosing abundance over lack. To rejoice is to dwell in the awareness of Presence, and Presence is the true shelter of your household. Thus the verse teaches true worship: your grateful I AM, joyfully, consumes what you have and proclaims that God is near in every realized desire.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you are already in the place the Lord chooses, feasting in your inner temple with those you love. Feel the replacement of lack with abundance as the money you would have spent becomes nourishment for your soul, and declare I AM present, joy rising as your state.
