Deuteronomy 13:2

Biblical Context

Deuteronomy 13:2 presents a scenario where a sign or wonder is offered to lure you away to other gods. It tests whether you will heed inner knowing or chase external powers.

Neville's Inner Vision

To the I AM, the sign or wonder is not an external marvel but a suggestion arising in your own consciousness to bow to what you do not know. The lure to follow other gods is a movement of a state of mind that prefers novelty, control, or separation over the unity of God. When such a sign appears, do not battle it as if it were real; instead revise the state from which it proceeds. You are the thinker, the awareness in which all images arise; you are invited to dwell as the one who calls the shots. Assume the feeling of being already loyal to the one God within, so that no idol has power over you. Let the impulse toward idols loosen its grip as you rest in the truth that you are the I AM. This is the test transfigured into triumph: you change the inner weather by imagining a stronger, wiser sense of self one that serves the Source rather than the signs. In practice, entertain the inner conviction that you are complete in God, and watch the sign fade as you hold to that reality.

Practice This Now

Assume you are already in God. Revise the image of the sign, and feel the unity of your awareness as real.
