Biblical Context
Daniel describes a night vision in which four beasts rise from the sea, each representing a changing state of power within the mind. The vision culminates in the Ancient of Days judging and a Son of Man receiving an everlasting kingdom.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, do you see? The four beasts in Daniel's vision are the four currents of your own mind in action—fear, appetite, pride, and force—rising from the sea of restless thoughts. The wings plucked from the lion, the ribs in the bear, the four heads of the leopard—all symbolize how consciousness is stirred by changing images. The little horn speaks great words because it has identified with the personal self, but that self is only a passing appearance. The Ancient of Days, wearing white garments and surrounded by fiery wheels, represents the timeless I AM, the one awareness that stands unmoved while the drama unfolds. The judgement is simply your decision to attend to this I AM rather than to the fluctuating beasts; when you do, the beasts' dominion wanes and your life takes on an enduring order. The Son of Man, coming with the clouds, is the awakened you, the consciousness that embodies dominion and glory. The kingdom that is given is not coming later; it is the realization of your true nature here and now, eternal and unshakable.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the I AM as your center. Revise any turbulent thought to a single, steady throne of awareness and feel the everlasting kingdom taking root in this moment.
