Daniel 11:37 Inner Crown
Daniel 11:37 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Daniel 11 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse describes a ruler who disregards the God of his fathers, the desires of women, and any god, magnifying himself above all.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this scripture, the 'he' is not a king apart from you, but a state of consciousness—an ego that pretends to independence from every inner God. The 'God of his fathers' is the memory of inherited beliefs you have worshipped as truth; the 'desire of women' is the pull of worldly appetite and attraction that would tether the mind to appearances; 'any god' is any external authority or opinion that would claim sovereignty over your awareness. He magnifies himself above all, meaning you have allowed a habit of thought to declare itself sole ruler, elevating the 'I' that thinks it stands alone, separate from the I AM. Neville teaches that all persons and events in scripture are states of consciousness, and imagination creates reality. Therefore, to reverse this, assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled: you are the I AM, the sole authority in your mind, not needing approval from fathers' gods, not obeying the world’s desires, not worshipping any idol but the living awareness within you. By inner revision—feeling-as-if-you-are-already this divine ruler—you dissolve the denial and invite true worship of the self as God within.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare: I am the I AM; revoke the false god of external authority; imagine a quiet inner throne where you reign with love.
