Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul cautions not to be beguiled by enticing words. He urges them to walk in Christ, rooted and built up in faith, while guarding against worldly philosophy.
Neville's Inner Vision
Colossians 2:4–8 speaks to the inner warrior of consciousness. The beguiling words are not merely words but subtle streams of thought tugging you away from your true nature. In Neville’s sense, the scene is not external pressure but a shifting state of mind: the moment you forget that you are the I AM, you begin to be swayed by philosophy and the vain deceit of the world. The apostle’s absent body is no distance at all, for spirit is present wherever your attention rests. Your task is to walk as one who is already Christed, to be rooted and built up in Him by constant inner recognition that Christ Jesus the Lord is the active principle in you. Stability comes with gratitude; you establish faith by living from the awareness that your inner life is not a belief but a state of being. The verse invites you to inquire within and align your imagination with that living truth, rather than chasing external systems. In short, keep your attention on the inner Lord and watch the outer world conform to it.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume: I am one with Christ Jesus the Lord; I walk in Him now. Feel the rooted stability in your chest and let gratitude rise as you revise distracting thoughts into Christ-imagined reality.
