Inner Circumcision and Resurrection

Colossians 2:11-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Colossians 2 in context

Scripture Focus

11In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
Colossians 2:11-12

Biblical Context

The passage speaks of a spiritual cutting away of sin’s power and burial with Christ in baptism. You are raised to a new life by the operation of God.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your true circumcision is not of flesh but of consciousness. In the phrase in whom you are circumcised, the old body of sins is cut away by the circumcision of Christ within you. Buried with Him in baptism means you grant the old self a burial by identifying with the I AM—the everlasting awareness that cannot die. You are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, not by your striving but by trust in the God-moving power already at work in you. The event is inward, not outward: salvation is a present reality you inhabit as a state of being. When you hold this inner fact, you shift your entire life into alignment with the divine current. Forgiveness, reconciliation, and a new life arise as you rest in that inner law and let the outer world echo your inner conviction. This is the spirit of Colossians 2:11–12: the old self is dissolved in the sea of God, and you awaken to a new life governed by the I AM.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: For a few minutes, repeat softly I am the I AM; I am circumcised in the heart, buried and risen with Christ now. Then feel your inner life surge as old patterns dissolve in awareness.
