Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul gives thanks to God and prays for the Colossians. He notes their faith in Christ Jesus, their love for all the saints, and the hope laid up in heaven.
Neville's Inner Vision
Consider this opening as the acknowledgment that God is not outside you but the I AM within. The Apostle's words describe three living states of consciousness: faith in Christ Jesus—the experiential trust that your awareness is informed by the indwelling Light; love for the saints—the extending of your inner affection to all beings, recognizing that you are one with them in spirit; and the hope laid up in heaven—the unseen promise of your higher possibilities stored in your consciousness, heard when the truth of the gospel is spoken to your inner ear. To the one who asks, this is not history but your current condition of awakening. When you make the assumption that these states are already yours, you begin to prune the old sense of lack. Your prayers become an act of consent to the truth of your true nature. The gospel then travels from outside words to an inward conviction that manifests as your lived experience: trust, love, and a future bright with your own heaven.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state: I AM grateful, I AM faith-filled, I AM love toward all. See in your mind the one you pray for thriving, and feel that reality as if it is already true.
