Read Amos 2 in context

Scripture Focus

9Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.
10Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.
Amos 2:9-10

Biblical Context

God declares He destroyed the Amorite before Israel and delivered them from Egypt, guiding them to possess the land.

Neville's Inner Vision

Viewed through the I AM, this text reveals your inner power rather than a distant history. The Amorite, tall as cedars and strong as oaks, is a stubborn belief or habit you have allowed to rule your inner landscape. When the passage says, yet I destroyed his fruit from above and his roots from beneath, it points to dissolving that belief from its exalted surface and erasing its roots in the subconscious. The journey from Egypt through forty years represents your movement from bondage to freedom within consciousness, being led from limitation toward the land you are capable of possessing right now. The “land” is the inner state of awareness where you act with dominion; the deliverance is inward, not external. If you awaken to the I AM as your immediate fact, you collapse the obstacle and awaken to a life that matches your inner assumption. Your power to change begins in consciousness, here and now.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare, I AM; identify a current limitation and revise it as destroyed from above with its roots pulled from beneath, then feel the freedom of the land already possessed.
