Acts 8:17

Biblical Context

Acts 8:17 describes believers receiving the Holy Spirit after others laid hands on them; the act signals an inner reception of divine presence.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, the scene is not about a man laying hands on a man and imparting something external. It is a story of the I AM awakening to its own presence. The receivers 'received the Holy Ghost' because they ceased to resist the truth that God is right here as their own consciousness. The laying on of hands becomes a visible symbol for an interior act: a firm assumption that the Holy Spirit, the very presence of God, is already resident in you. In Neville’s terms, grace is not given from without but recognized within by your persistent I AM awareness. When you imagine yourself as the indwelt temple, the current of life flows; the sense of separation dissolves, and holiness and favor become your normal state. So the verse invites you to revise any tale of lack by repeating: I am the Holy Spirit within, here and now, and the results will follow in belief and experience.

Practice This Now

Assume you are already filled with the Holy Spirit; feel that reality now. Then, in imagination, lay your hands on your chest and declare, 'I AM the Holy Spirit within me.'
