Awakening the Inner Kingdom

Acts 8:12-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Acts 8 in context

Scripture Focus

12But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
13Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
Acts 8:12-13

Biblical Context

Acts 8:12-13 shows belief before baptism as inner alignment with the kingdom of God; those who hear Philip's message are baptized, and Simon believes and is baptized as well, marveling at the signs.

Neville's Inner Vision

Belief in Acts 8:12-13 is not merely an outward confession but an inward turning of attention to my true state of being. Philip proclaims the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, and I hear within me a present reality—my I AM recognizing itself as all power and all presence. When I believe, I am instantly baptized in that consciousness; the water becomes a symbol for my renewed sense of self, the old me dying to limitation and the new self rising into light. Simon’s example shows that wonder at outward signs can accompany belief, yet the deeper act is the inward agreement: I accept the kingdom as mine now, not tomorrow. The miracles I behold are not outside me but demonstrations of my consciousness moving to align with truth. My task is to dwell in that awareness, letting it claim every corner of my mind, until what I know inwardly manifests as how I live outwardly.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the truth: I am the Kingdom of God within me now. Feel this baptism of consciousness as a living assurance, revising any doubt until it is real.
