Heaven Opens Within

Acts 7:55-56 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Acts 7 in context

Scripture Focus

55But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
56And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
Acts 7:55-56

Biblical Context

Stephen, filled with the Holy Spirit, looks toward heaven and witnesses the glory of God and Jesus standing at God's right hand. He proclaims that the heavens are opened.

Neville's Inner Vision

To Stephen the outer vision mirrors an inner truth already alive in his consciousness. Being full of the Holy Ghost means saturating the self with the I AM until the gaze rises above appearances. The glory of God he sees is the radiant activity of awareness itself; the Son of Man standing at the right hand is the inner image of rightful authority, not a distant throne. The opening of the heavens is the mind’s recognition that divine reality is immediate and present, not distant or future. As you fix your attention steadfastly, you demonstrate that you live within a kingdom that is neither external to you nor earned by effort, but realized by alignment with the I AM. The kingdom of God is a present condition revealed when you drop the sense of separation and affirm the truth of your own divine nature.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume the I AM is the sole reality; declare, 'Heavens opened; the Son of Man stands at my right hand,' and hold that feeling until it becomes your immediate sense of self.
