Biblical Context
Acts 26:18 describes awakening the mind: moving from darkness to light and from bondage to Satan to life in God, so forgiveness of sins and a sanctified inheritance come through faith.
Neville's Inner Vision
All scripture speaks to the states of consciousness I inhabit. 'To open their eyes' is not about a literal eyelid, but a decision of the mind to leave fear behind and rest in the light of I AM. When I affirm 'There is only God in me,' the 'darkness' dissolves and my attention turns toward the light. The 'power of Satan' signifies the old belief of separation; I revise it by dwelling in faith in the I AM within, thereby dissolving guilt as a false perception that can be corrected by a single assumption. The phrase 'forgiveness of sins' refers to releasing mistaken beliefs about lack, guilt, and separation; as I abide in truth, those beliefs lose their grip. 'Inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me' becomes the realization that my true estate is a consecrated consciousness—sanctification is achieved by faith in the I AM present within. The practice is simple: assume the state of being already enlightened, and let that state transmute every experience here and now. This is not a future promise—it is my immediate waking of consciousness.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: In quiet, assume the feeling of your mind already opened to light; declare, 'I am the light of my world,' and dwell in that truth for a minute. Let the sense of forgiveness and rightful estate reveal itself in the next moments.
