Biblical Context
At a heated moment, some Pharisees declare there is no evil in this man, and suggest that if a spirit or angel has spoken to him, one should not resist God.
Neville's Inner Vision
Acts 23:9 speaks of a storm in the council, but the storm is only the mind at variance with its own image. The Pharisees' defense stands for a state of consciousness clinging to tradition, anxious that change may threaten the known self. Then a whispered suggestion—if a spirit or angel hath spoken to him—arises within you as a sign that truth can speak through any form when your heart is awake. 'Let us not fight against God' becomes your practical command: do not resist the divine movement within your imagination. God is the I AM behind every thought; the man, the circumstance, the cry, are movements of your own consciousness. When you accept the inner message, you invite harmony, obedience, and faithfulness to the higher revelation already in you. The conflict dissolves not by facts, but by turning your attention from fighting to listening, from fear to trust, from outward appearances to the inward decree of being.
Practice This Now
Assume the inner voice is true for a moment. Revise your self-image to align with its message and feel the I AM real within.
