Biblical Context
The verse describes an intimate gathering where bread is broken, meals shared, and long talk continues until daybreak. Finally, the speaker departs.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this moment you are learning that the outer scene is but a mirror of your inner state. The 'he' who rises, breaks bread, eats, and talks long is not a man outside you, but your higher self awakening within your own consciousness. Coming up again signals a rising in awareness; breaking bread and eating are rites of inner nourishment—the acceptance of truth as your daily food. The long dialogue represents sustained inner conversation with the I AM, the awareness that you are more than your surface thoughts. When daybreak comes and he departs, it is the dawn of a new state of being—the moment you depart from the old limitation and dwell in the presence of God as your own I AM. By repeatedly rehearsing this inner scene, you will find that fellowship with God becomes a constant, not a momentary event, and unity with life follows as night yields to light.
Practice This Now
Practice: sit quietly for a few minutes, then imagine you are at a table with your higher Self. Break bread in imagination, swallow the nourishment of truth, and continue an inner dialogue with your I AM until dawn. Then, feel that you have departed from lack and awaken to a new consciousness.
