Judgment Seat Within Us

Acts 18:12-15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Acts 18 in context

Scripture Focus

12And when Gallio was the deputy of Achaia, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat,
13Saying, This fellow persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law.
14And when Paul was now about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If it were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O ye Jews, reason would that I should bear with you:
15But if it be a question of words and names, and of your law, look ye to it; for I will be no judge of such matters.
Acts 18:12-15

Biblical Context

Acts 18:12-15 shows Gallio refusing to judge a dispute about worship and the law, sending the matter back to those who argue within their own code. It's a picture of nonintervention in the outer arena when the mind is focused on inner worship.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of Gallio as the impartial witness within you—the I AM that will not be bent into every dispute of the mind. The Jews in the text are your habit to measure reality by words, names, and the letter of the law. Paul, the apostle of truth within you, stands ready to speak a fresh worship of God, but the acting governor refuses to adjudicate such inner matters. The judgment seat becomes your own field of awareness, not a courtroom for doctrinal quarrels. When you insist that your thoughts prove God or deny Him, the inner Gallio says: this is not a matter for the outer court; you deal with it by your inner alignment. Thus the scene invites faith: trust that truth exists beyond argument, and that your I AM can witness all mental content without becoming entangled. The practical shift is not to convert every belief but to recognize the observer behind belief—the God within—that notices but does not condemn. In this light, true worship is simply awareness itself, listening and embracing what is alive in you without the need to judge every name or label.

Practice This Now

Imaginative_act: Assume the role of the observer on the inner judgment seat; rest in I AM, and declare, "I will be no judge of such matters." Then feel the sense of nonresistance as thoughts about worship and law pass by.
