Inner Kingdom Awakening in Acts
Acts 1:1-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Acts 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
It recounts Jesus beginning to do and teach, appearing after the resurrection and speaking of the kingdom of God. He commands the apostles to wait in Jerusalem for the Father’s promise—the Holy Spirit baptism—to empower them to witness to all.
Neville's Inner Vision
These words are not merely history; they are your inner drama. Jerusalem is the seat of your awareness, the place you must come to in stillness before action. The command to wait for the Father's promise is a summons to rest in the certainty that the kingdom you seek is within you. The baptism with the Holy Ghost is the awakening of consciousness—an infusion of the I AM into every thought, feeling, and decision, endowing you with power to witness. You are not asked to know external times or seasons; you are asked to align with the inner timing of your own life, and to let the power descend through your very breath. When this occurs, the so-called world begins to answer from the inside; your life becomes a living proof of the kingdom. The question about restoring the earthly rule drops away, replaced by the realization that the kingdom is now here, and you are its witness wherever you stand.
Practice This Now
Sit in quiet and place your attention at the center of your chest, saying, 'Jerusalem within me is awake.' Then imagine the Holy Spirit descending as a bright presence and testifying to one situation in your day from that state for five minutes.
