Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
John commends faithful acts of kindness toward brothers and strangers. He says to receive such travelers so you may become fellowhelpers to the truth.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, you are asked to see the beloved guest as a symbol of your own inner helpers. When you do for the brethren and for strangers, you are not aiding exterior men; you are tending the dream of truth within your own consciousness. The witnesses who testify to your charity are the voices of your I AM recognizing itself in others. To bring such travelers forward in a godly manner is to authorize a movement within you that expands for the sake of the Name—the Name being your divine self-expression. Because they went forth in that Name, you are reminded that every act of hospitality is a faith-test of your inner economy; you either give from a sense of lack or acknowledge abundance as your true nature. Therefore, receive such ones, that you might be fellowhelpers to the truth. In truth, you are the host of the living word, and every receival strengthens the very reality you seek to manifest.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Assume you are already hosting those going forth for the truth; feel the gratitude and abundance as you release them on their journey, seeing their path as divinely sponsored.
