Scripture Focus

14But I trust I shall shortly see thee, and we shall speak face to face. Peace be to thee. Our friends salute thee. Greet the friends by name.
3 John 1:14

Biblical Context

The verse expresses a wish to meet in person, to share peace, and to greet friends by name. It points to an inner readiness that mirrors outer relationships.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within this book, states of consciousness meet as if in conversation. When I affirm 'I shall shortly see thee,' I am not forecasting a future trip but declaring the inward certainty that the self is about to recognize itself in another. 'We shall speak face to face' becomes the moment inner dispositions converse, the I AM exchanging truths with itself. 'Peace be to thee' is the vibration I hold now as my living atmosphere. 'Our friends salute thee' gathers the energies—gratitude, joy, fidelity—to bless the person I meet in the outer world as a reflection of my own inner order. 'Greet the friends by name' prompts me to name the inner qualities I cherish—courage, kindness, wisdom—so I treat them as intimate companions within my own being. Thus the outer event is only the echo of the inner state; the reality I seek is already formed in imagination and stands ready to be perceived when I shift my attention to it. In this practice, peace and unity arise as one continuous presence between me and every other.

Practice This Now

Assume you are already in the presence of the friend, speaking face to face; feel the peace as your inner atmosphere. Greet them by name in your mind and bless the encounter as already accomplished.
