Called By Grace Within
2 Timothy 1:9-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Timothy 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works but according to His own purpose and grace given in Christ Jesus. Jesus appeared to abolish death and bring life and immortality to light through the gospel; Paul is appointed a preacher, apostle, and teacher of the Gentiles.
Neville's Inner Vision
Take this text as a map of your inner world. The saved and called are not external achievements but states of consciousness aligning with the I AM that you truly are. Before the world began you carried a purpose and grace in Christ Jesus, not earned by effort but conferred as your inner birthright. When the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ is perceived within, the fear of death loses its grip and life and immortality rise into consciousness as light through the gospel. The outer roles of preacher, apostle, and teacher of the Gentiles then unfold not as a future task but as present declarations produced by your inner royalty. You are the witness, the announcer, the healer of your own mind, appointed by the inner decree of your soul. Practically, this means you revise your sense of self until you feel the inner purpose already in operation, and you use the gospel as the invitation to awaken to life that cannot die.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: sit quietly, close your eyes, and assume that you are saved and called now by grace. Feel the inner purpose as a present reality and imagine your vocation flowing from the I AM shining through your mind.
