Inner Salvation Now: 2 Thessalonians

2 Thessalonians 2:13-17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Thessalonians 2 in context

Scripture Focus

13But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
14Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
16Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
17Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
2 Thessalonians 2:13-17

Biblical Context

Paul thanks God for the believers and acknowledges God’s choice of them for salvation; he exhorts steadfastness in doctrine and hope through grace.

Neville's Inner Vision

You are not pleading with a distant deity; you are awakening to a stable state of consciousness. When scripture says God chose you to salvation, hear it as the choice you make to identify with your divine self here and now. Sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth describe the inner cleansing and acceptance of truth as your lived reality, not an external event. By the gospel you are called to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ—the living radiance you become when you acknowledge that you are the presence through which all grace flows. Stand fast in the traditions you have learned—these are the consistent images and thoughts you persist in within the space of your mind. Remember that the Father and Jesus, whom you call upon, have loved you and granted everlasting consolation and good hope through grace; let that grace saturate your heart and steady you in every good word and work. Thus your outer world aligns with your inner state, and peace becomes your habitual atmosphere.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume you are already chosen; feel the grace as a present presence within. Repeat softly: I am chosen, I am held in grace, and I stand fast in truth.
