Neville's Inner Vision
In the inner gospel, the 'host' is the collective faculties; Joab is the decisive will that moves the life of experience; Jehoshaphat is the scribe who registers every movement of that will. The outer world's kingly order mirrors an inner arrangement: a ruling I AM commands the field of perception, and a faithful memory preserves the outcomes of those commands. When you dwell in the awareness that you are the I AM, you appoint a disciplined commander to organize thought and action; nothing flows until the inner authority is clear. The 'recorder' should not chronicle fear or lack, but the successful movements and the states you wish to inhabit. The verse quietly teaches that actual power resides in the alignment of inner command and inner record: your mind becomes the host under a singular, recognized ruler, and your memory becomes the register of the new state. Practice with this awareness: you are the ruler; assign your mental host to carry out a desired state, and insist on its recording of successful outcomes.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you are Joab at the helm of your inner host, with Jehoshaphat as the faithful recorder. Decide the state you want, then feel the command and the recording as real in you now.
