Read 2 Samuel 6 in context

Scripture Focus

13And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings.
2 Samuel 6:13

Biblical Context

In 2 Samuel 6:13, those bearing the ark take six paces, and David sacrifices oxen and fatlings to the LORD, signaling worship tied to movement and reverence.

Neville's Inner Vision

The ark stands for the Presence within you, carried by your conscious attention. The six steps are a sequence of inner movements—awareness, invitation, honor, release, stillness, and communion—that culminate in a sacrificial act. The sacrifice is not for a distant God, but a psychological release of old beliefs, fears, and claims to control, making room for the I AM to dwell more fully. As the procession progresses, the moment of sacrifice seals a covenant of inner loyalty: worship becomes a steady state of consciousness, not a single ritual. The Presence of God then is experienced as an immediate inner occupation—your awareness aligned with the truth that you are the ark bearing the divine within. When you acknowledge this, the external ritual mirrors your inward alignment, and true worship arises as a natural expression of the living I AM.

Practice This Now

Sit or walk and count six inner steps of attention; after the sixth step, revise your sense of self to “I am the Presence here now” and feel that Presence filling you as you continue the procession.
