Hebron Within: The Inner Sons
2 Samuel 3:2-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Samuel 3 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
David has six sons born in Hebron. The passage records their names as Amnon, Chileab, Absalom, Adonijah, Shephatiah, and Ithream.
Neville's Inner Vision
Hebron is the seat of my inner kingship, the place where I dwell as the I AM. The six sons are six movements of consciousness that rise when I claim dominion over my mind. Amnon awakens as desire; Chileab comes as intimate sight of truth; Absalom embodies the pull of self will seeking to rule; Adonijah reveals the vanity of lordship; Shephatiah expresses loyal affection; Ithream arrives as blessing born of balanced nourishment. They are not separate beings but facets of the one life within me, each coming to life under the steady rule of the king who sits on the throne of Hebron—the awareness that I AM. To steward them is to align them with divine order, not to suppress them but to bring them into harmony with love, wisdom, and truth. When I acknowledge these movements and revise any impulse that defies peace, the kingdom within extends its peace into the world, revealing the Kingdom of God as the order of consciousness rather than a distant place.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and seat yourself on the throne of Hebron in your mind; watch the six inner sons arise. Then revise any discord by affirming I am king now, and feel the kingdom already established.
