Inner Burial, Divine Restoration
2 Samuel 21:14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Saul and Jonathan are buried in Zelah as commanded, and the people obey the king. Afterward, God is entreated for the land.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this verse the bones symbolize the stubborn remnants of an old self-identity—the king Saul and the line of authority you once believed defined you. Their burial in Benjamin’s land and the sepulchre of Kish point to the inner roots of authority and the place where you finally lay to rest what no longer serves your sovereignty. The king’s command represents your inner directive, the higher I AM that requires alignment and obedience. When you consciously perform that inner command—releasing the past, revising old self-images, and choosing a new state of being—you awaken God, the I AM within you, to intercede for the land of your life. The outer world then responds with relief, stability, or grace as your inner disposition harmonizes with inner truth. This is a drama of consciousness: burial precedes grace; obedience to inner authority invites divine response; the land reflects your renewed state. In Neville terms, changes in inner state precede changes in outward circumstance, and the land becomes available to your renewed sovereignty.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine laying the bones of the old self in the sepulchre of Kish within your inner landscape. Then declare, 'I am the king of my life,' and feel the land respond with calm, restored ease.
