The Unyielding Bow Within

2 Samuel 1:22 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Samuel 1 in context

Scripture Focus

22From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, the bow of Jonathan turned not back, and the sword of Saul returned not empty.
2 Samuel 1:22

Biblical Context

The verse extols unwavering resolve. Jonathan’s bow and Saul’s sword stand firm, neither retreating nor returning empty-handed.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the inner theatre of your mind, the blood of the slain is the fear you have sacrificed to your I AM. The fat of the mighty is the vitality you pour into your divine purpose. The bow of Jonathan that turned not back is your imagination disciplined toward a fixed aim, remaining loyal even when appearances tremble. The sword of Saul returning not empty is your outward acts and realized desires, flowing from that inner alignment and producing fruit rather than emptiness. To live this way is to inhabit the state of kingship within consciousness, where obstacles are transmuted into fuel for forward motion. When you inhabit that steady I AM, you do not seek power over others, you awaken the ruler inside and allow life to echo your inner authority. Your world becomes a reflection of a single, unshakable state of consciousness that cannot fail because it is God in you.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume the I AM as a steady inner king; feel the bow that does not turn back and the sword that returns with fruit. Rest in that feeling for a few minutes, repeating, 'I am the I AM; I move forward and nothing is wasted'.
