2 Peter 3:5

Biblical Context

2 Peter 3:5 points to a truth often forgotten: the heavens and the earth are formed by the Word of God, arising from inner consciousness.

Neville's Inner Vision

To Neville, this verse is a map of the inside: the 'word of God' is the living I AM that births every scene you witness. The heavens you assume eternal are patterns of thought you have allowed to remain; they were 'of old' because you have forgotten that you can recreate them in the present by a new word within. The earth standing out of the water and in the water represents the form your felt life takes when feelings (the waters) surge and then settle into solid belief. The outer world is not a random report but the faithful mirror of your inner assumptions. Awareness is the Word that can rearrange both sky and soil; when you acknowledge that your consciousness is the source, you release fear and invite new order by feeling as if it is already done. The verse corrects forgetfulness: truth guides you to discern the living Word at work, first in you, then in your world.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume the state 'I am the Word of God in action.' Feel the heavens forming and the earth taking shape now, as if your inner decree has already completed them.
